VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Every hiring event on the Hampton Roads fall calendar asks Beach residents for the same thing: get in the car, run 264 west, and hand half a day to the tunnel. One does not. On the third Wednesday of every month the state runs a job fair you attend from your kitchen table, and the employer roster behind it is not thin.

The Workforce Wednesday Virtual Job Fair runs 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, Wednesday, November 18, and Wednesday, December 16, with more than twenty Hampton Roads employers signed on for the October session. Why This One Suits Beach Residents

Virginia Beach has a geography problem with job fairs. The region's hiring events cluster in Norfolk and Hampton, so a Kempsville or Great Neck job seeker spends more time on the road than in front of a recruiter. This fall proved it: not one public hiring event cleared verification inside Beach city limits.

That mix says what any Beach resident already knows: defense contracting and the public payroll carry Hampton Roads. The roles skew toward engineering support, facilities and maintenance, logistics, transit operations and direct care. One caveat worth reading twice: that roster is October's. Virginia Works rebuilds it monthly, so November and December will not match.

It is genuinely virtual. No room, no address, no parking. If you wanted to shake a hand, this is not that event.
The platform opens early. Virginia Works says the site goes live five days ahead so you can read company profiles and upload a resume. Do it, or you waste the first hour.
Veterans are the emphasis, not the gate. The listing says all military and civilian job seekers are welcome, so a lifelong civilian from Hilltop is not out of place.
The jobs are regional. Ask where the work actually sits before you get attached to a role.
No admission price is published. The state listing posts no cost either way, so confirm at registration rather than assuming.
