What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. spelled out its plans in a holiday hiring announcement. The company is filling seasonal store and supply chain jobs and set three in-person hiring days for this fall: September 24, October 22 and November 19, with interviews and offers possible on the spot. Store roles are part-time, and Macy's says event hours vary from store to store.

Here's the straight version. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its stores this year, and Hampton Roads isn't on the list. The hiring day still runs at stores nationwide, and both South Hampton Roads locations are open for business, but Macy's hasn't published a headcount for either one. Treat October 22 as a real shot at a holiday job, not a guaranteed offer.

There's no single pay rate to quote, either. Macy's says every posting lists its own pay range, so read the number before you apply. Benefits named in the announcement include a colleague discount, a 401(k) and medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility.

Lynnhaven Mall. The Virginia Beach store sits on Lynnhaven Parkway south of I-264, the biggest retail cluster in the city. It's the easy pick for Kempsville, Princess Anne, Great Neck, Lynnhaven and anyone coming in from the Oceanfront or Red Mill.

Greenbrier Mall. The Chesapeake store anchors Greenbrier off I-64 at Greenbrier Parkway. It works for Great Bridge, Western Branch, Deep Creek and Indian River, and for Norfolk's south side, without fighting the drive out to Lynnhaven.
